A few minutes before the ceremony that will officially open the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games begins, the surroundings of the National Stadium in the Japanese capital are nothing like those imagined for an event of this magnitude.
The general public is banned from most competitions and only 950 special guests will be able to attend the opening.
This is about 1% of the available capacity at the Olympic Stadium.
