Having learned the outcome of the draw of the judo scoreboards, in which in the 73 kg category he would almost certainly have to face, in the second round, an Israeli opponent, Tohar Butbul, the Algerian Fethi Nourine has announced that he is withdrawing from the Tokyo Games.
This was confirmed by his coach Amar Ben Yekhlef.
"We had no luck with the draw - commented Yekhlef -. Our judoka Fethi Nourine would have had to face an Israeli opponent, and this is the reason for his forfeit. We made the right decision".
