Covid self-diagnostic tests can now be purchased at pharmacies.

The council of ministers approved on Tuesday the royal decree that unlocks this possibility for citizens.

In this way, each citizen will be able to check if they have an active coronavirus infection in just 15 minutes by following the steps detailed in the video at the top of this article, which describes how to properly perform the antigen test.

The Spanish Medicines Agency (AEMPS) recommends carrying out these tests in the first seven days from the suspicion of contagion or in the first five from the appearance of symptoms compatible with a coronavirus infection. In any case, in addition to following the recommendations in this video that has been prepared with the information provided by the AEMPS and the main laboratories that dispense the tests, you must carefully follow the instructions in the test package for the result to be valid. Also, as the Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, explained on Tuesday, if the test result is positive,It must be endorsed by the National Health System and the patient with the presumed contagion must follow the established protocols and contact their health center to have a new test supervised by health personnel.
