Fathi Nurin, the Algerian judoka who retired from the Tokyo Olympics to avoid encountering the purity of Botbol, was immediately suspended and thrown out of the Olympic Village.
But it may very well not be the last time we will have to engage in politics at this Olympics.
As is known, Raz Hershko is scheduled to open her way next Friday in the over 78kg weight category against Tahani al-Kahtani of Saudi Arabia.

In al-Qahtani's country, they have already started a campaign on social media aimed at supporting al-Qahtani, but opinions are divided and while there are those who want it to represent the country and go into battle with Hershko, some want it to retire so as not to "face the Zionist entity."
The tweets on this topic have gone very viral and garnered hundreds of responses.
Social activists posted tweets with the phrase: "We are with you, no matter what you decide" and received a lot of responses here or there, but mostly responses that support that Kahtani will appear in battle.
"Go up to battle and win for Palestine, it will be the biggest victory," wrote one of the respondents.
"Defeat the devil," wrote another.
"Hopefully she will not retire and give the Zionists victory," wrote another respondent.
