Senior Inspector Zhen Hao-yen, Head of Team 2B of the Crime Squad of East Kowloon Region, said that in the early morning (24th), detectives searched a hotel unit in Mong Kok and arrested two men and women on charges of burglary and seized what the prisoner had worn during the crime. The clothing and related stolen goods are believed to have been sold for cash. The male suspect was responsible for the burglary, and the female suspect was responsible for "watching the water" at the door. They were involved in 8 burglaries with a total value of 100,000 yuan.
The arrested man and woman hold Hong Kong identity cards, 32 and 43 years old. The two reported that they were married and were unemployed. They are now being detained for investigation.
Zhen Haoyan pointed out that the culprits are usually easy to take, not difficult to take, and the location of this incident is the ground shop that is undergoing renovation.
The security equipment on the ground floor is rudimentary, and many people use a simple password to press the lock, so it is easier for thieves to sneak into the shop.
The decoration tools are generally not locked and placed in a conspicuous place, which makes it easier for the thief to take advantage of them. I believe that the decoration tools stolen in the case will be sent to nearby recyclers or second-hand shops for sale.
The police appealed to the relevant shops to accept the sale of goods if they find that the price of the goods is too low or the origin of the goods is not known, they should not accept it. Otherwise, they may have a chance of committing the crime of handling stolen goods in Chapter 210, Article 24 of the Laws of Hong Kong.
