A man was killed with a blow to the head by a criminal who threw
a cement block at him
to steal his motorcycle, in front of an Educational Institute in the Buenos Aires city of Mar del Plata, in the Punta Mogotes area.
The tragic episode was discovered this Saturday at dawn by a motorist who was circulating through Pacheco and Lebenshon streets.
There he observed the body of
a man lying on the ground with bloodstains
and gave 911 notice.
Members of the fifth police station and staff of the Emergency Medical Care System (Same) found that the person had died of
"unnatural"
causes
, for which they initiated an investigation.
The fact could be clarified hours later thanks to the
security cameras of
the Mogotes educational institute.
Upon accessing these images, the Police could first see that the murdered person was
a motorcyclist
who had arrived at the scene around 18 on Friday, sat outside the institute for a long time,
drinking alcohol and then fell asleep.
The recording took the moment in which a criminal arrived at the scene, around 11pm. At that moment he
hit the person on the head with a concrete block
, then took his motorcycle, some belongings and ran away at full speed.
The attacker still could not be located
but the capture is expected to take place in the next few hours, while investigators tried to identify the victim.
The crime is investigated by the prosecutor on duty, Romina Díaz from the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI), who ordered the initiation of a case labeled
"homicide on the occasion of robbery
