Dozens of people who oppose getting vaccinated against the corona virus are demonstrating tonight (Saturday) in front of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's house in Raanana.

The demonstrators chanted slogans comparing the government's efforts to stem the outbreak of the Delta strain to the Holocaust, as well as comparing the prime minister to dictators from the past.

"Naftali Bennett, in Germany said that the Jews are dirty and should be in the ghettos - in Israel 2021 you have declared the unvaccinated as dangerous to the public," they read.

At the same time, two more demonstrations are taking place outside Bennett's home, led by pregnant women protesting the abolition of the sick pay, as well as by his opponents, right-wing activists who have been protesting for several weeks, and clashes broke out again tonight with police.

Opponents of vaccines came out over the weekend in protest against Bennett's announcement that as of August 8, those who were not vaccinated would not be allowed to enter closed events and businesses, including synagogues and cinemas, without presenting a negative virus test result - which they would have to pay for themselves.

In his statement from the Tel Aviv campus, Bennett sharply attacked the opponents, saying that "vaccine refusers endanger our freedom."

"There is no reason for vaccinated citizens to fund tests for those who refuse to be vaccinated," he said.

Bennett also announced that anyone who refuses to be vaccinated and returns to Israel from abroad will go into solitary confinement for a week.

Last night, police arrested five people during a riot in a similar demonstration outside Bennett's home, in parallel with a demonstration by right-wingers.

According to police, dozens of protesters who arrived at Bennett's house yesterday blocked traffic and clashes broke out between them and police.

"A group of protesters arrived in the afternoon at the front of the prime minister's residence in Raanana and blocked the traffic while violating public order," police said.

"Policemen ordered the demonstrators to leave and move to the protest compound that approved in favor of these protests. After the demonstrators, the guidelines were not heard, the guidelines were given to them from the place," he said.
