The Afghan authorities, confronted for two months with an all-out offensive by the Taliban, on Saturday declared a night curfew throughout the country with the exception of three provinces including that of Kabul.

In order to stem the violence and limit the movements of the Taliban, a curfew is decreed from 10 p.m. to 0400 (5.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. GMT) in 31 provinces of the country,
" said the Afghan Ministry of the Interior in a statement, by specifying that only the provinces of Kabul, Panchir and Nangarhar (East) are not affected by this measure.
