Berlin - The hot phase for the federal election on September 26th is slowly beginning.

Not only are the candidates for chancellor under closer scrutiny, but also the heads of the smaller parties.

Because they may tip the scales when it comes to coalitions.

One of them is FDP leader Christian Lindner, who in an interview with

BR24 has

already decided that the Union will provide the chancellor with Armin Laschet.

“For me it is now almost clear that the government education mandate goes to the CDU and CSU.

The race for the Chancellery between the Union and the Greens, which is expected by many, seems to have been decided, ”said Linder.

The remaining question is whether a black-green coalition will come or whether black-green will miss the majority.

Then the FDP would be needed to form a majority.

Interview with FDP leader Christian Lindner: Doubts about Baerbock's manager

The Greens leader Annalena Baerbock considers Lindner unsuitable as Chancellor.

"In the last few weeks I have had doubts about the manager of Ms. Baerbock." In addition, options under the leadership of the Union and not the Greens are realistic.

Lindner also does not agree with the content of the Greens: "The Greens do not do climate protection like we do, with technology and inventive talent, but predominantly with the old, unsuccessful instruments of subsidies and bans."

But the FDP leader does not want to completely rule out belonging to a coalition with a Green Chancellor.

"We will still give some thought to coalition-political issues and also to the trend reversals we want to achieve in Germany," said Lindner.

That is not planned at the moment.

Interview with FDP leader Christian Lindner: no tax increases with him

But Lindner is certain of one thing, he is ruling out tax increases: "The upswing will not be strengthened if the burdens on people and businesses in the highest tax country, Germany, are increased even further."

Instead, he relies on private investments in clean technologies or affordable housing.

As a positive example, Lindner cites the development of the corona vaccine by Biontech.
