Thirty positive cases for Covid-19 were detected in a summer camp in a campsite in Sagone (Corse-du-Sud), the department's prefecture announced on Saturday.

The participants in this summer camp, 80 adolescents from 12 to 15 years old and their supervisors, had been tested at the request of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Corsica, after one of the adolescents had been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 Friday.
The results of these RT-PCR tests showed that 30 young people and 3 supervisors were also positive, indicated the prefecture of Corse-du-Sud, specifying that all the members of this summer
camp

had a valid health pass. upon their arrival in Corsica on July 9th

Put in solitary confinement

All the participants in this colony were placed in isolation on the spot, the people tested negative being separated from the proven positive cases.
Negative people will be tested again at the beginning of next week
, ”added the prefecture, specifying that the organizer of the colony will ensure“

For two weeks, the Isle of Beauty has seen a significant increase in Covid-19 cases. Haute-Corse, the second most affected department in France, has even exceeded the alert threshold set by the government. A situation which had led the prefect to take new sanitary measures by launching in particular an experiment of the sanitary pass in 13 establishments of Balagne and Saint Florent.
