The Tunisian Ministry of the Interior announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell consisting of five people, which was planning to carry out criminal operations in the city of Menzel Bourguiba, in the governorate of Bizerte in the north of the country.
And the Tunisian newspaper Al-Shorouk quoted the ministry as saying in a statement today that "the specialized units of the security area in Menzel Bourguiba managed, after monitoring and follow-up, to dismantle and arrest members of a terrorist cell consisting of 5 people. After examining their phones and listening to some calls, it was found that they were planning to carry out terrorist operations."
On the seventeenth of last May, the Tunisian forces killed five terrorists during a military operation with the participation of security forces in the Chaambi Mountains in the Kasserine Governorate, on the border with Algeria.
Since 2012, Tunisian forces have been engaged in campaigns to track down terrorist groups affiliated with cells affiliated with Al-Qaeda in Morocco, as well as the terrorist organization ISIS.
