42 million pounds fines for violating private facilities within six months

The value of the financial fines imposed by the Directorate of Labor in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor on violating facilities exceeded 42 million Syrian pounds during the first half of this year, based on 216 decisions taken by the Directorate against these facilities in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 17 of 2010 regulating work in the private sector, according to a report issued about the directorate.

Director of the Labor Directorate Mahmoud Damrani said in a statement to SANA that the violations included not regulating work contracts for workers in the facility, not registering them with social security, operating juveniles, and containing more than 15 workers in some facilities without creating an internal system, which is contrary to the law, and some of them did not announce the “women’s employment system,” despite Having more than 5 workers.

In another context, according to the report issued by the Directorate, the number of industrial and commercial establishments and private educational institutions before university education granted by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor a decision to stop work, whether totally, partially or temporarily, is 28.

Damrani explained that with regard to the directorate’s work with studies of the work stoppage service, they are carried out in accordance with the provisions of Chapter Ten of Labor Law No. 17 of 2010, and the service of approving the internal regulations of the establishments is based on the provisions of Article 90 of the Labor Law, in addition to providing a service to answer inquiries related to the labor law. Inclusion of these services within the Specialized Center for Citizen Service immediately upon completion.
