In the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for the Latins in Lattakia, a sewing workshop was opened for widowed women and immigrants to the province from villages that were subjected to terrorism in the context of providing them with suitable job opportunities.

Father Fadi Azar, pastor of the Latin sect in Latakia and the priest of the church explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the project is now in the first phase and currently includes 10 sewing machines with a plan to expand to include 30 machines, pointing out that the main objective is to train and support women beneficiaries to launch their own businesses and empower them to improve the living standard of their families.

For his part, the trainer in the workshop, Issam Younes, indicated that the idea started from the desire to provide training in professions that would enable widowed women to carry out work that would help them in their daily lives and support their families. Whether as a private work or in one of the sewing workshops and laboratories, indicating that the workshop will provide a suitable level of training on all work related to the sewing profession during this period.

Expatriate women from Idlib countryside found in the opening of the workshop a suitable opportunity for them to find suitable work in light of the current living conditions that could mitigate the effects of the terrorism they were exposed to with their families, including Nada Angelo from the village of Al-Qunia in Idlib countryside, who noted the importance of the workshop and the extent of community interest in improving the conditions she is going through Most of the displaced families are from Idlib countryside, pointing out that some of the trainees have a simple idea of ​​the sewing profession, but the training period is sufficient to launch private projects or work in other workshops that support her family.

For his part, the daughter of the same village in Idlib countryside, Lina Aleppo, pointed out that the idea helps us to be active in society to help our families and transfer our experience to others.

The opening of the workshop was attended by the Governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem and the Secretary of the Latakia branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Engineer Haitham Ismail.
