For people who are not very good on their feet, or parents with prams, the Gröbenzell train station was a major annoyance for over a year - and sometimes an insurmountable obstacle.
Now there is news regarding the defective elevator.
Gröbenzell - It's not just any elevator, no, the Gröbenzell station lift even made it onto television.
The daily newspaper has already reported several times that the lift has been defective for over a year.
People with walking difficulties, but also parents with prams, had no chance of getting to the platform without a barrier.
But now Mayor Martin Schäfer (UWG) announced some good news at the town hall: At the end of September and beginning of October a new elevator will be installed.
This ends months of annoyance for those affected.
Wheelchair user Jochen Bückle, for example, had to undertake an odyssey every day.
