Miesbach - Anniversary celebrations are difficult to plan in times of Corona.

The Miesbacher Weißbierbrauerei Hopf also discovered this.

Instead of being able to celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, the company had to move its founding party to 2022.

A decision that suits Miesbach's classic car enthusiasts very much, as chairman Erhard Pohl now announced at the annual general meeting, at which, among other things, board elections were on the agenda.

Because for lovers of old vehicles, there is another big oldtimer meeting every four years in 2022, and the Hopf anniversary festival is an ideal occasion after 900 years of Miesbach's first mention (2014) and 100 years of city census (2018).

The date for the historic vehicle meeting is Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Although the classic car enthusiasts are still quite young at the age of six, the club founded in 2015 is very popular.

“We currently have 190 members,” reports Pohl.

"We are growing steadily and have little fluctuation."

Next appointment: Oldtimer parking in Miesbach

And that, although the regular get-togethers had to be stopped due to the corona. The celebration of the fifth anniversary in 2020 was also canceled in the course of the lockdown. The mechanics and horsepower fans are all the more looking forward to the old-timer morning pint, which will take place on Saturday, August 7th, at the invitation of the host Anian Kurz on Habererplatz. Two weeks later, on Saturday, August 21, there will be old-timer parking on the Miesbach market square, which the association is planning together with the Miesbach Community Advertising Association (GWM). A joint two-wheeler ride is also being considered. In addition, a Kirta excursion is planned for Monday, October 18.

Despite all the adversities caused by Corona, Pohl draws a positive conclusion.

The 2022 vehicle show is particularly promising.

“Many want to come because we only hold this event every four years.

That makes it something special. "

Youth group is to be revived

There are still goals.

Among other things, to revive the youth project.

“The group we had outgrown this age group,” says Pohl.

Now it is important to find and motivate new interested parties.

After all, it is part of the association's philosophy to pass on old values to young people - and also old knowledge.

“Even with the tractor, people now work with a laptop and a diagnostic device.

But with us you still need feeling, experience.

You can hear how the engine sounds.

You analyze and fix things instead of just replacing them.

That is the attraction and we would like to pass it on. ”Ddy
