This has never happened in the history of the culture bang, which is riddled with success: Due to apocalyptic storms, the festival had to be canceled on Saturday evening.

This has never happened in the history of the culture bang, which is riddled with success: Due to apocalyptic storms, the festival had to be canceled on Saturday evening.

Riedhausen

- Roaring electro beats mix with an apocalyptic mood when the Duo Loisach Marci plays on Saturday evening at the Kulturknall in Riedhausen: The wind is picking up, clouds darken the horizon, and visitors stretch their hands in the air while their bodies are in the Weigh the tact.

It's a boisterous atmosphere that has been so sorely missed since the pandemic.

The evening could have ended so beautifully - but after two songs it's over.

The organizers of the Menschen Helfen association have to end the benefit festival early due to storms - for the first time in the history of the culture bang.

After the announcement everything goes very quickly.

People pour over the area, the first drops are falling, tents are being secured against the upcoming storm.

Then sharp-edged hailstones patter from the sky.

Club chairman Robert Roithmeier runs right through this scenario.

Completely soaked, but still in a great mood.

“It was a top festival so far!” He shouts against the torrential rain.

So it happened that the culture bang in the tranquil Alt-Riedhausen was a success despite the capricious weather.

The tickets were completely sold out.

"We are satisfied because we have shown that a festival can also be set up in these times," explains press spokesman Robert Zormeier.

Everyone regrets the abrupt end, but that is the risk.

On Saturday 1000 guests gathered on the area along Mauritiusstrasse - most of them were equipped with weatherproof clothing and umbrellas.

So it can be endured when the local band Bison alludes to the shower.

With success: shortly afterwards the sun shows up and the party people can enjoy the late afternoon in summery temperatures.

Four and a half bands appeared on two stages on the first day, if you count Loisach Marci's interlude.

For example, the Murnau group “Die Zeitzeugen” provided full ranks.

Their socially critical texts all come from the pen of singer Frank Vogler.

In addition, there was a culinary offer with booth miles. Handicrafts were also offered. The Riedhauser west gate hall fed the visitors in the "Café Vollmeise". The little visitors got their money's worth with the children's culture bang. Handicrafts, make-up, fire brigade exercises and farm tours were on the program. For Sunday, Beeswax, Stray Colors and the Wellküren were announced - with a lot more luck - weather-wise.

The audience was mixed and spread over the large area. There was an FFP2 mask requirement except for the seat. Not everyone understood that: “It's exhausting. I think it's an exaggeration because everyone here has been tested, recovered or vaccinated anyway, ”said a visitor who does not want to give his name. Conversely, Monika Walser from the District Youth Association gave praise. According to her, it is important to make cultural events possible even in times of crisis. “There were so many restrictions and hardships that people want to do something again.” Apart from that, the whole thing serves a good cause: the proceeds will go to a Moldovan children's center and local aid projects.
