Garmisch-Partenkirchen - A mentally ill man who is housed in the closed department of the kbo-Lech-Mangfall-Klinik in Garmisch-Partenkirchen triggered a major alarm on Saturday, July 25, for no reason and in mental confusion.

According to the police, the 21-year-old resident of the district dialed the emergency number on a service telephone of the facility and reported a room fire to the integrated control center in Weilheim at around 4.30 p.m.

He had only imagined it.

A full alarm was triggered - with far-reaching consequences. Because there was a huge contingent of rescue workers. On site were the Garmisch and Partenkirchen fire brigades with 16 vehicles and around 80 men, the district fire inspection, the technical relief agency, the Murnau fire brigade, disaster control, six ambulances including an emergency doctor, the police and various operations managers and support groups. It quickly became clear that it was a false alarm. How the patient got on the phone could not be clarified. "Calling over 100 emergency services resulted in enormous costs, and the majority of the emergency services were alerted from their free time," said the Garmisch-Partenkirchen police report. The case may have legal consequences:A complaint was made against the 21-year-old for the abuse of emergency calls. The public prosecutor is now dealing with this.
