District - The Dirk low pressure area kept the fire brigades on their toes, especially in the northern district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, on Saturday evening, July 24th. Thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and storm passed across Bavaria. Apparently the Ammertal and parts of the Murnau area were hardest hit by the storm. Fortunately, according to the police, no one was injured.
There was also no major damage. Nevertheless, the rescue workers had plenty to do - and were on constant duty. So cellars and apartments had to be pumped out. For example, the water in a Bad Kohlgruber ground floor accommodation was about 60 centimeters deep. In the place at the foot of the Hörnle, a tree had to be cleared that had been bent over and fell into a power line. The masses of water washed the gravel onto the streets in many places and clogged the gullies. Broken branches blocked paths and roads. And in some places, for example in the north of Murnau on Bundesstraße 2 and in the Strassäcker industrial park, small lake landscapes formed due to the flooding.
The guests of the Kulturknall Festival, which took place in the Seehauser district of Riedhausen, were caught off guard. Due to the torrential rain, the organizers of the Menschen Helfen association had to cancel the benefit event on Saturday - for the first time in the history of the culture bang. as / db
