The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection continues to prepare and prepare everything related to the new mechanism (localizing the place of receiving bread) via the electronic card in the governorates of Hama, Lattakia and Tartous, with the aim of starting the application in the coming days, in conjunction with continuing work on setting standards for the sale of bread to citizens according to specific allocations and segments.

The Assistant Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Rifaat Ali Suleiman, explained to SANA’s delegate that work is currently underway to reach the best “formula” and procedures in the interest of the citizen and a mechanism to ensure that the material reaches him with the appropriate quality and the due quantity away from any mood in the sales process, indicating that the desired formula is being prepared based on the On analyzing the opinions of citizens that were viewed through direct communication with them in several meetings within workshops held in the three mentioned governorates and through the opinions received on the ministry’s platforms and other pages on social media.

Regarding the date of the start of the new mechanism, Suleiman indicated that it will be in the coming days, pointing out that the date of its implementation is not linked to determining the criteria for selling bread to citizens according to specific allocations and segments.

Regarding the percentage of resettlement in the three governorates, Suleiman said that it reached 85 percent of the number of families registered in these governorates, indicating that continuing to prepare for the mechanism and prepare everything related to it aims to reach the highest settlement rate and ensure complete readiness for implementation.

The new mechanism for selling bread includes specifying the place of receiving the material with a point of sale for each electronic card, where it is possible to choose the point of sale, whether approved, hall, or outlet for the Syrian Trade Establishment, or one of the halls of government institutions, cooperative societies, or bakeries, to suit the place of residence or work of the citizen, i.e. the closest to him.

According to Suleiman, the new mechanism comes as a continuation of the project (automating the sale of subsidized bread) through the electronic card, with the aim of ensuring that the citizen obtains the material easily from the point of sale associated with it, preserving his right of the material, ending the manifestations of crowding at the ovens, controlling their work and the quantities of flour supplied to them, and preventing manipulation of the sale Subject.

Suleiman indicated that it is possible to register at any point of sale and change it between governorates five times a year, while more can be done within a single governorate, explaining that this mechanism enables the ministry to evaluate points of sale and detect and fix defects, whether related to the approved and the method of transferring the material and its dealings with citizens or from the bakery and the quality of it. Bread quality.

The Ministry of Internal Trade opened the registration for the new mechanism in the governorates of Hama, Tartous and Lattakia on the 28th of last June to choose the point of sale approved by the citizens.
