Thousands of households in Unter- and Oberschleißheim were temporarily cut off from the water supply on Saturday evening.
According to Mayor Christoph Böck, the reason was a power failure, presumably due to a lightning strike in the waterworks electricity network.
Unterschleißheim
- Normally, according to the mayor, the system automatically switches to emergency operation.
On Saturday, however, a control switch did not work here.
As a result, the pumps did not run and the water supply was cut off for about half an hour.
The whole team of the waterworks including manager Josef Geitner immediately rushed to the location in the Berglwald to solve the problem.
After a switch could be bridged, the pumps started up again.
According to Böck, normal operations were restored around midnight.
It will now be analyzed why the automatic emergency operation did not work.
