Steinhöring

- A car with four occupants rolled over near Abersdorf (municipality of Steinhöring) on Sunday afternoon.

The vehicle landed on the roof in a ditch.

According to initial information from the scene of the accident, the car wedged itself so hidden next to a bridge that several drivers drove by without noticing the accident.

Accident in Steinhöring: the fire brigade couple observed an accident while going for a walk

But then the relief operation had already started: Fortunately for the vehicle occupants, Steinhöring's fire brigade commander Anton Höfer and his wife Veronika, also active in the fire brigade as a fire protection educator, were on a private walk with their children less than 100 meters from the scene of the accident.

"I only heard it squeak," said the commandant of the

the situation on the phone.

As direct witnesses to the accident, the Höfers stopped a car and asked the occupants to take care of their two children (seven and ten), made an emergency call and rushed to the victims' help. By the time the first equipped helpers had arrived, three vehicle occupants were able to climb out of the accident car with the help of the Höfer couple.

Then the two, who were helping in private clothing, handed over the command of operations to Höfer's deputy, Dominique Freytag.

The rescuers also got the fourth, slightly trapped person from the car stuck in the ditch.

"As a private person, it catches you differently because you can't prepare," said the commander on the

phone

about the deployment of

.

But practiced is practiced - the automatisms worked.

Fortunately, the stream had little water and little ran into the vehicle cabin.

“It could have looked different two or three weeks ago,” suspects Höfer.

According to the Ebersberg police, all four car occupants with minor to moderate injuries must be treated in the clinic. According to the current state of knowledge, none of the four is in mortal danger. On the back seat, the granddaughter (25) and her partner (27). How the vehicle came off the road at around 2:45 p.m. will probably have to be clarified by an expert. According to initial testimony, the accident happened without the involvement of third parties on an open, straight stretch.
