Mirko Zanni finished in third place the 67 kg weightlifting competition, lifting a total of 322 kilos, a new national record.
The race was won by the Chinese Chen Lijun with 332 kilos overall, while the Colombian Luis Mosquera Lozano took the silver.
Zanni, 23, from Pordenone, this year before the bronze in Tokyo had won a gold at the European Championships in Moscow, in the snatch.
"This bronze medal weighs, it weighs a lot .."
. Said by a 24-year-old boy, Mirko Zanni, who lifted 322 kilos and took the blue medal on the second day in Tokyo, has a particular meaning.
"This medal is an award for 10 years of pain and sacrifice", he told RaiSport
