Thunderstorm torrential rains over the south-east of England led to late afternoon flooding in the streets of London on Sunday July 25.

In the south of the British capital, near the station of Queens Town Road station, the police blocked traffic on a street that has become impassable, the roadway being flooded, especially under railway bridges, noted an AFP journalist.
In the middle of the street were three red double-decker buses blocked, one of the drivers told AFP that the water had reached the floor of his vehicle.

London firefighters said on Twitter that they had received around 300 calls reporting flooding in the southwest of the capital.
The British meteorological service Met Office has raised an orange alert for thunderstorms in London and surrounding areas until 7:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. GMT), but thunderstorms and torrential rains are expected until Monday, July 26 in the south of the country.
Some places in the South may even see 100mm of rain fall in a few hours on Sunday evening.
