Typhoon "An Fa" swept through several regions in eastern China, accompanied by heavy rain and floods, which caused the suspension of sea, air and rail traffic.
The Xinhua news agency quoted the flood control headquarters as saying that the cyclone swept through several areas, carrying winds of 38 meters per second, which caused the uprooting of trees, and heavy rains inundated large areas in cities and towns in the east of the country.
Sea, air and rail traffic has been suspended, especially around the main shipping port of Ningbo, and authorities have called on residents to be vigilant.
China annually witnesses typhoons and floods during the summer, but the heavy rains in this way in some areas prompted climate experts to call for exploring the possibility of better preparedness to face weather phenomena that experts say are occurring at an increasing frequency and more severe due to climate change.
