Céline Rozé, a resident of Enghien-les-Bains, owns Cupido, a 14-year-old stallion bought initially for small competitions ...

“Even in our wildest dreams, we wouldn't have imagined that!

And yet, it is in Tokyo that Céline Rozé, 41, woke up this Saturday.

This resident of Enghien-les-Bains made the trip to accompany her horse, Cupido, selected to represent France at the Olympic Games in the dressage grand prix which takes place this weekend.

But it is not this professional osteopath who will hold the reins during the long-awaited passage before the jurors.

"Me, I prepare it and then I am at the edge of the field to stress", she smiles.

Cupido is ridden by Maxime Collard, friend of the Val-d'Oisienne and professional rider.

“Without her, history probably wouldn't have happened.

It's our trio that has evolved like that, ”says Céline Rozé.

Initially, Cupido is not destined for such a future.

When Céline Rozé, passionate about horse riding, bought this three-year-old stallion eleven years ago, her only ambition was to practice her hobby, dressage, with her own animal.

“There was a picture of him on a young horses for sale site and I fell in love straight away.

The idea was that he took me to the small professional events, the small tour.

There was no question of a very high level at the start, ”she explains.

Céline Rozé claims to have received several purchase offers for Cupido, but she does not intend to sell it.

But after three to four years when he is ridden either by Celine or by Maxime, the two women realize that Cupido shows skills beyond expectations. So that he can make further progress, his owner therefore accepts to entrust him exclusively to Maxime. “It's a real choice because in the end, I no longer ride my horse. But I trust him completely. I wouldn't have done it with just anyone. I had several purchase offers but I refused, I do not intend to sell it. "

The latter was also not very reassured to let him go to the other side of the world. All the horses arrived in Tokyo on July 16 to be able to acclimatize themselves before the start of the competition, like real athletes. “A total of 19 hours by plane. I was afraid he would suffer but it went well and here the structures are optimal for them, with air-conditioned boxes, tents equipped with misters… It's 5 stars ”. The trio have no dreams of a medal. “The goal is to enter the top eight in the world as a team. Either way, it was out of the question to miss it. "
