Victoria, Julieta and Delfina were born in the middle of a pandemic, the result of a pregnancy that occurs once every 200 million. "Sometimes we differentiate them by the earrings," say Vanina and Leonel, the girls' mother and father.

Victoria, Julieta and Delfina

Chainski Catalá

were born on July 25, 2020 in the South of Greater Buenos Aires.

Genetically identical trigemels are a case that occurs every 200 million pregnancies.

This Sunday they celebrate their first birthday, they are healthier than ever and each day is transformed into a new anecdote.

Unlike most cases of triplets, the daughters of Leonel Chainski and Vanina Catalá Ortmann (36) come from the fertilization of a single egg by a sperm.

They were born by caesarean section and without complications at the IMA Clinic in

Adrogué

, and currently live in the

San José

neighborhood

,

in Lomas de Zamora.

"Being a mother of trigemels is something that I never imagined in my life. At the beginning of 2020 we went on a trip to Europe and came back pregnant, it was something much desired", says Vanina, who experienced a

"triamniotic monochorial pregnancy"

in the first person

.

Facing all the complications that this could entail, the couple today enjoys three healthy, happy and "tremendous" girls.

Inside this house in Loma, the parents - both teachers and licensed - describe each day as "chaos."

Each task is multiplied by three and as the trigemels grow, new challenges arise but, beyond each problem that may arise, the family assures that the lottery was won with the arrival of the genetically identical sisters.

In addition to being new parents, Leonel and Vanina's challenge is to learn and adapt to an unexpected lifestyle every day.

"Although we have a very marked routine, in the middle we have to make changes.

What works today may no longer work tomorrow

. You have to reinvent yourself all the time," says Leonel as one of the main characteristics of this first year " complex but beautiful ".

In the arms of his father, Leonel.

Likewise, despite having spent months with few hours of sleep on top and countless medical check-ups, the two emphasize that, thanks to the good character and patience with which the trigemels already have, daily tasks become a little less complicated. .

"We still need the help of relatives, but as they grow up the management is different. Today everything is much better," says the mother.

Between them the relationship is just as close as before birth, and as sisters they continue to meet and discover each other every day.

"Now that they are a little older

we see that they yell at each other, take out toys, and touch their hands a lot

,

"

exemplifies Vanina.

Although each one sleeps in their own crib from the beginning, when they are put together they ensure that the relationship "grows stronger."

Sometimes being close is all they need to carry out activities that previously seemed complicated, such as eating: "What we notice is that by

putting them in a row,

one next to the other, they touch their hands and eat -Leonel says-. What they were looking for was obviously contact, and not from just anyone, but between them. "

This is how they were almost a year ago, in September 2020, the day they arrived home after passing through Neonatology at the clinic.

Just as they begin to play and form a good relationship, the one-year-old sisters also show jealousy and demands and, as parents say, four arms do not always cope with three babies who, fortunately, do not stop growing.

"Sometimes we pick one up first and the other two start screaming, but we try to make them see that we also have to share, even if they still don't understand the meaning," explains Vanina, and clarifies that the inconveniences are not usually repeated because the three of them already "know how to respect their times."

When paying attention to each one, one of the main problems for relatives - and even their own parents -

continues to be distinguishing them.

Being physically identical, there are few characteristics that distinguish them at first glance and, since they are so subtle, it is easy to confuse them if you do not look at them carefully.

As a family, with Leonel and Vanina in the house of San José.

"The first tool to distinguish them are the ear rings. Victoria has golden pearls, Julieta has white pearls and Delfina has some rhinestones," explains Leonel, who assures that despite being the parents and after a year of upbringing and living together , both can go wrong.

Another infallible key to differentiate them is, according to what they say,

the marked character of each one

.

"The personality of each one changed a lot with the passing of the months.

Julieta

is the most beautiful and super nice, I say that she is my Koala.

Until a while ago

Victoria

was a saint, but now she is quite capricious, and is very observant. And

Delfina

, who I said was my revolutionary because she was quite terrible and serious, today is pure love and very mischievous ", describes Vanina.

For the couple from

Lomas de Zamora,

this entire first year meant that both continue to rediscover each other within a new world of first-time parents and trigemels.

Another memory of the birth: one of the first photos, in the IMA clinic.

"We have been together for 15 years, and we have our couple discussions like everyone else, but the pregnancy brought us closer together. We tried to talk and talk things over, mostly so as not to argue in front of them," says the mother of the sisters. identical.

Leonel, on the other hand, details that communication and harmony in the couple and at home are essential for the family they formed.

"We get along very well, and that the drinks are so calm has to do with that. I'm looking forward to what is coming for this family, which are all good things," he says.

Meanwhile, the couple continues to adjust to multiple, relentless parenting

amid the pandemic

.

"The babies get in the car to go to the doctor and cry, because

they are not used to traveling or going out. We still live in a bubble,

" they say.

In summary of all this first year spent with the

Temperley

trigemels

, Vanina relates: "They are beautiful, they are the best thing that happened to me in life. I speak for myself but for the father it is the same. They are our greatest treasure, and after 15 years of courtship, of traveling and enjoying themselves, I think they were the icing on the cake to finish closing that single stage, to be concubines and parents ".
