“Extremely massive learning and performance stress endured”: 409 FOS / BOS graduates received their Abi

409 graduates of the Freising FOS / BOS have received their Abitur.

The headmistress found impressive words for the achievements of the young people.

- In shift work, so to speak, the high school graduates of the FOS / BOS received their certificates on Friday - a year that reminded headmistress Roswitha Stichlmeyr of a “colorful meadow of flowers”. Combative orchids, fun-loving poppies and a few sad primroses were there. They all came to the Luitpoldhalle - divided into three rounds - to have their maturity for university and life officially confirmed with a certificate.

You weren't in “La La Land”, but the song “City of Stars”, which introduced the awarding of certificates (based on a video excerpt from “Stromberg”), still fit: 409 stars were allowed to come on stage and get the confirmation that after an extremely turbulent school year, so Stichlmeyr, and many restrictions, they really deserved to hold the Abitur in their hands.

Because after 18 months of Corona, they are not only students who have "achieved outstanding results", said Stefanie Kaindl on behalf of the parents' council, but also "exam, learning, digital, distance and mask professionals".

Discipline, perseverance and patience characterized the year

Stichlmeyer, who during the months of the corona pandemic also opened up “this little virus” to natural beauties, compared the students with a “great, colorful bouquet”.

And like flowers in a meadow, they would have "unfolded their full bloom in all sizes" during their FOS and BOS time and endured an "extremely massive learning and performance stress".

They also needed “a lot of care and attention” from teachers, friends and parents.

Discipline, perseverance, understanding and patience - these were the hallmarks of the 2021 Abitur class at the FOS / BOS.

Robert Wäger, deputy district administrator, also knew that the graduates had to do without a lot in the past 18 months.

And that the high school graduates would have gone to school again after completing their secondary school leaving certificate or after completing vocational training was “far-reaching,” said Wäger.

Now the students are “at the wheel of their lives”.

And then Wäger had brought an urgent appeal: “Get vaccinated!” Applause in the Luitpoldhalle.

OB calls on graduates to pat themselves on the back

Freising's Lord Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher also spoke of “many restrictions in a formative time”: You have experienced the advantages and disadvantages of digitization and have certainly learned that distance is not so nice.

The young adults should now look for a job that is fun, not afraid to change the path, but today first pat themselves on the back.
