Allegiance must be declared
Candidates must sign on the nomination form to declare that they support the Basic Law and pledge allegiance to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. At the same time, they must expressly agree to the Candidate Qualification Review Committee, the National Security Commission, the Returning Officer of the relevant sub-subsector, the Registration and Electoral Office and the election administration. The committee checks with all relevant agencies (including but not limited to the Immigration Department, the Civil Service Bureau, the Correctional Services Department and the Hong Kong Police) the information provided in the nomination form, as well as being nominated as candidates and Eligibility to be elected as an election committee member.
Candidates must also expressly agree that the above-mentioned relevant agencies shall disclose any relevant records or information to the Candidate Qualification Review Committee, the National Security Commission, the Returning Officers of the relevant sub-sectors, the Registration and Electoral Office and the Electoral Affairs Commission for verification purposes.

In addition, candidates must also declare their spouse's information, including the nationality of the spouse, the spouse's right of abode in a country other than the People's Republic of China, and the spouse's current occupation, but there is no column that specifies the information to be declared in the BNO.
The Qualification Review Board requires each nominee to complete the supplementary information form for the qualification review of the nominee. The supplementary information form completed by each nominee should be stored in a separate sealed envelope and submitted by 5 pm on August 12 .
