538 graduates are leaving the Erding vocational school this year.

82 of them received awards for their particularly good performance at the graduation ceremony.

Erding - “Another graduation ceremony that is only possible under special hygiene rules and in which most of the graduates cannot participate - a shame.

But at least a graduation ceremony, ”said Dieter Link at the opening.

The head of the state vocational school in Erding had the traditional task of releasing his high school students into life on Friday.

This time there were 538, in 21 different professions - most of them, 64, are now wholesale and foreign trade merchants.

The fact that only 82 of them sat in the clear rows of the fully-seated school gym was due to the Corona hygiene rules.

These 82 were honored on that day for particularly good performance.

Previously, the head of the vocational school, Link, summarized the final year.

"With their diploma, 87 graduates have achieved the intermediate level of education," he explained.

42 had already come with Abi and 213 with secondary school leaving certificate.

He is also proud of 15 students from the vocational integration classes who have graduated from secondary school.

In addition, 93 graduates with the KMK English certificate were able to graduate.

"They have thus acquired proof that they can also communicate in English in their respective professions."

In his speech, Link used the teaching of an African fairy tale as a red thread. In this a palm tree is maliciously prevented from growing with a heavy stone. But the palm is powerfully opposed to the load and is therefore particularly strong. "A nice picture for the saying: 'People grow with their tasks'", says Link. Not only was the search for a suitable apprenticeship a burden for the students, the pandemic was also a practical test. Despite masks, distance lessons and sometimes distance training, the trainees showed that good qualifications are possible even under difficult conditions. Link thanked the companies that supported their trainees and provided some PC workstations.

For the future, Link gave young people the opportunity to contribute their skills and strengths to society, to get involved in associations, aid organizations or political parties. They should also use their right to vote in the federal election in September. The speech by the headmaster was followed by the handover of the state prizes by the third district administrator, Rainer Mehringer. District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer wished the students a good start to their careers via video message.

The handover was moderated alternately by Left's deputy Günther Mittermaier and Manuela Schropp from the school management.

Mittermaier announced that 26 graduates will receive 200 euros as a cash bonus in addition to their state prize.

For this, in addition to various other conditions, they must have at least a grade of 1.50 on their final certificate - the zero as the second digit after the comma plays an important role here.

55 of the high school students received a certificate without a cash prize.

The honorary prizes of the "Franz-Eisenreich-Schulfondstiftung" were then awarded by Erding's Lord Mayor Max Gotz to five other graduates (report to follow).
