Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) has called for quick decisions to rebuild the transport infrastructure after the flood disaster.
Berlin - “With every destroyed road, bridge, rail section, the point is now: Are we going to rebuild it exactly right away?
Or can we use new knowledge, technologies or building materials to make our traffic routes more resilient? ”Said Scheuer to the newspapers of the Funke media group on Monday.
"The challenge is to make these decisions in the shortest possible time," said the Federal Minister of Transport. Every day counts when rebuilding the infrastructure. Scheuer recalled that the federal government had already initiated building measures for climate adaptation, for example on the Rhine.
