A year has passed since the big change in leadership at the Fraunberg fire brigade.

At the annual general meeting, the board of directors presented a thoroughly positive balance.

Fraunberg - It was the first annual general meeting of the Fraunhofer fire brigade after the big change in leadership last year.

The young successors presented a consistently positive balance in the Bürgersaal on Saturday evening.

Chairman Georg Atzberger, who replaced Albert Daschinger, and Commandant Thomas Daschinger, who had succeeded his father Georg Daschinger, impressed with their detailed and digitally supported statement of accounts as well as the activities listed therein for 2020. Mayor Hans Wiesmaier was also enthusiastic: “You are incredibly up to date.

The professionalism you show almost gives you goose bumps, ”he praised the tour and paid“ respect and appreciation ”to all those gathered for their commitment.

Of course, the pandemic was a great challenge for the club and team, and it was mastered with innovations such as board meetings as online meetings and carefully implemented regulations to ensure operational readiness, such as disinfectant dispensers in the fire station.

Commandant Daschinger spoke of an "insane balancing act", which one had to enter into between protective regulations and the ability to act.

Because an infection among the comrades "could have shot down the entire fire brigade".

You had to come to terms with "strange and difficult situations", such as virtual group exercises.

During the lockdown, the number of bets dropped to ten.

Whereas the total number of hours worked, which also includes training courses or radio trips, was 1,753 in 2019, in 2020 only 1,110 hours were spent.

The greatest effort was to raise the alarm about a fire in a horse stable in Pesenlern.

Good work by the firefighters and luck prevented worse, the commander reminded.

The Fraunberg fire brigade currently has 165 members, 32 of them women, listed Georg Atzberger in his review of the association's activities. The Fraunberger Wehr is proud of its digital presence: the constantly updated homepage has been in existence since 2014 with 424,000 hits. In addition, a Facebook and an Instagram account have been set up.

Albert Daschinger, who presented the activities of the youth fire brigade on behalf of youth warden Tobias Ott, recognized the most effective way of recruiting young talent. On the day of the annual general meeting, they aroused the interest of eight children and young people. This should be further fired on a day of practice right at the beginning of August. A total of eight young adults were taken on to the active team last year, four of whom were appointed firefighters by Thomas Daschinger and his deputy Andreas Neumaier. Without a certificate, the former commandant Georg Daschinger was honored with great applause for 40 years of active service.

The 150th anniversary celebrations that are imminent in two years' time were also briefly mentioned.

When a comrade asked, Atzberger revealed more of the plans: From May 17th to 21st, festive days for young and old are to be held with a church service, wine evening and a humorous program.

At the end of the annual general meeting it was announced that Franz Ganslmaier's visit was his last official appointment as district fire chief.

The 65-year-old Wartenberger retired with honors from the community and the fire brigade.

His successor is Thomas Metz from the Langenpreising fire department.
