Journalist Roni Daniel passed away.
Daniel died at the age of 73 and was the security commentator for News 12 and one of the company's senior reporters.
The beginning of Daniel's journalistic career is in 1971, when he joined the Voice of Israel as a transport and agriculture reporter.
He later became a military reporter.
In 1977 he was included in the Voice of Israel delegation to Egypt and at the end of 1980 he completed training at the CBS radio station in New York.
In the years 1982-1984, Daniel also worked in the IDF, and during the Yom Kippur War he was the first reporter to go up to Mount Hermon with the Golani fighters. As a correspondent for military and security affairs.

Daniel grew up on Kibbutz Maoz Haim and also has an IDF background, which he completed as a lieutenant colonel in the reserve.
In October 1965, he enlisted in the IDF in the 906th Battalion of the Nahal.
During the Six Day War he fought at the Battle of Umm Katf on the Egyptian front, was wounded by shrapnel but returned to the front.
In the late 1960s he became a company commander and fought in the war of attrition.
During the Yom Kippur War, shortly after his release from the IDF, he accompanied the 51st Battalion as a Kol Yisrael reporter.
