The municipality of Bad Wiessee would certainly welcome a new supermarket. However, not at the point that an operator would have wished for. The applicant flashed off.

The municipality of Bad Wiessee would certainly welcome a new supermarket.

However, not at the point that an operator would have wished for.

The applicant flashed off.

Bad Wiessee

- Free, well-developed areas are in short supply at Tegernsee.

This is not the first time that a building contractor has been woodpecking on the former maypole meadow on the corner of Sanktjohanserstraße / Hubertusstraße in Bad Wiessee.

At the most recent meeting, the building committee had received a preliminary decision application for the construction of a retail market with a bakery as well as 16 apartments, underground parking and parking spaces on the triangular property.

This time, too, the applicant flashed off - and also received a puzzled shake of the head from the head of the building department.

Bauamtsleier Bammer: "There is no building permit here"

The property opposite the Hotel Bussi Baby, on which the Wiesse maypole stood until recently, is to remain open.

That, as construction authority manager Anton Bammer made clear, was the declared wish of the community.

In the zoning plan, the area is shown as “other green space with particular importance for the townscape” and is located in the outer area.

“There is no building permit on the meadow property,” Bammer clarified.

In addition, there is no further need for a food market at this point.

The southern and northern local areas of Bad Wiessee are well supplied, while in the center of the town there has been "a big gap" since the closure of the Netto store on Rathausweg in June 2020.

The attitude of the community was already known to the applicant

The head of the building authorities did not hold back with his astonishment that the application was made at all. The attitude of the community and the planning law situation had already been "clearly" explained to the client in a personal conversation in March of this year. "The applicant was also aware of the rejected request from Netto in 2020," reported Bammer. At that time, the discounter had also tried to locate it on the open space.

Bammer didn’t leave the draft that the store operator had attached to his application either.

Such a "nested and inharmonious construction" would not be imaginable either at the requested location or in the center of the town.

“From my point of view, only a very clear rejection is possible,” said Bammer.

The members of the building committee agreed with this stance and unanimously rejected the application for a preliminary ruling without discussion.

Hofa President had his sights set on a plot of land for a new hotel management school

Hans-Leo Peoplau is likely to be saddened by the news that no development is desired on the former maypole meadow.

The president of the Tegernseer Tal hotel management association, which he himself founded, had looked out for the property for the long-awaited new hotel management school (Hofa) and was already full of euphoria in a press release.

The President now sees "light at the end of the tunnel," said Poeplau.

In the congregation, however, the chairman apparently did not appear with his vision.

Neither the building authority manager nor mayor Robert Kühn was aware of the idea of a new Hofa on the property in Bad Wiessee.
