A suspected dog abuse incident occurred in Tianpingshan Village, Sheung Shui.
In the past few months, a dog owner discovered that when a woman at the site was taking a dog for a walk, she waved a "macker" made of several iron nails and wooden sticks in her hand to drive away the dogs she was raising. The dog was drenched with suspicious liquid.
The dog owner even pointed out that some dogs had injuries and suspected of being abused, so they called the police for help.
After receiving the report, the police and the SPCA inspectors went to the site to investigate the incident this afternoon and arrested a 69-year-old woman on suspicion of cruel treatment of animals.
Mr. Zhou, a villager in Tianpingshan Village, said that he stocked 6 dogs, 4 of which only had chips.
In the past few months, he found suspicious wounds on his dog, suspected to be the work of a woman in the village.
According to the video he provided, a woman walking with a dog wielded a wooden stick with nails inserted at the top to drive away the dogs on the path. The dogs kept barking during the walk. There were also videos showing the woman holding a plastic bottle facing away. The barking dog drenched suspicious liquid.
Mr. Zhou also found that the wooden stick was placed in front of the village house where the woman lived.
He suspected dog abuse, so he called the police today (26th) for help.
A female villager pointed out that a few months ago, someone had filmed a woman swinging a stick and chasing a dog. She thought that the behavior was not good. "It's a life. (The woman) is so dissatisfied, I can't help it." She said she was suspicious. The abused dogs are only kept by people, not stray dogs. They are also said to be very well-behaved and will sit and wait for someone to feed them, and they have never attacked her dogs.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the police and the IAAF inspector went to the site to investigate.
It is understood that the AISI inspector and the dog owner initially inspected the dog. No obvious wound or bleeding was seen, and the old wound on the body had healed.

The officers arrived at the scene, and preliminary investigation believed that a woman was holding a wooden stick and waving at a group of dogs at the site earlier. The 69-year-old woman surnamed Zhao was arrested on suspicion of cruel treatment of animals. The case was handed over to the Animal Crime Police of the Tai Po Police District. No injured dogs have been found in the case.
The arrested woman is currently being detained for investigation.
