In the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, the storm even claimed a fatality.

Munich - At the weekend, violent storms * hit Bavaria again.

The south of the Free State was particularly affected this time.

The fire brigades in the districts near the Alps were in constant use.

In the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen there was even one death from a storm.

The situation remains tense at the beginning of the week.

Storm in Bavaria: gusts of wind hit the hunter's stand

The thunderstorm band stretched in a band from Allgäu to Berchtesgaden * on Sunday evening. In some regions there was massive rainfall and squalls. The storm was fatal for a 57-year-old hunter in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district *. He was sitting on a raised stand in a forest near Eglfing on Sunday evening when a gust of wind tore the entire structure out of its anchoring and overturned it. The man suffered fatal injuries.

The storm also raged particularly hard in the Weilheim-Schongau * district. In addition to heavy rain and hurricane gusts, there was also hail. Trees were uprooted and fell on the road along the B2 and B472. The traffic came to a complete standstill in the meantime. In Prem even the maypole fell over. Again and again cellars overflowed and streets were flooded. The helpers had to cope with well over 100 missions on Sunday evening.

Also near the B472 - but this time in the Miesbach district - a mudslide broke out due to the storm.

The mudslide spilled the state road 18 between Grossschwaig and Auerschmied.

In the rest of the district, too, basements were full and trees fell.

Heavy thunderstorms * were already blowing over parts of the Allgäu in the afternoon.

There were road closures and power outages, reports
