The Tunisian General Labor Union confirmed that the decisions announced by Tunisian President Kais Saied yesterday are constitutional.

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Union, Sami Al-Tahri, explained in an interview with Tunisian Radio Shams FM that the union had consulted some constitutional law professors, who confirmed that the exceptional measures announced, there is nothing wrong with them, pointing out that the situation in Tunisia has become difficult and that the state and its agencies are absent in the face of the Corona pandemic He stressed that the union had considered on more than one occasion that it was necessary to reach a solution.

He indicated that the union sought to find a solution through dialogue.

Yesterday, the President of the Republic decided to relieve Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashishi, lift the immunity of the deputies, and freeze the activity of Parliament for a month.

The Tunisian Federation also called for observing constitutional guarantees, foremost of which is the necessity of setting the deadlines for the exceptional measures taken by the Tunisian presidency and setting their goals so that they do not turn into permanent measures.

The Union saluted the country's military institution due to its antiquity, patriotism, and unconditional adherence to protecting the country's security, calling on all parties to distance it from political quarrels.

In turn, the Tunisian People's Movement affirmed its support for the Tunisian president's decisions, which it asserted are constitutional and a way to correct the country's course.

Earlier today, the Tunisian presidency called on the people to pay attention and not to fall behind the advocates of chaos, noting that the order to freeze the activities of the Tunisian parliament will continue for 30 days.
