The work of the third conference for Syrian researchers in the homeland and expatriate will start tomorrow, Tuesday, which is organized by the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research for a period of three days, under the title “Towards the Knowledge Economy… The Role of Syrian Researchers in the Homeland and Expatriate” under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus.

The conference sessions and discussions focus on a number of themes in the fields of technology and information systems, in addition to organizing exhibitions of scientific posters.

The activities of the first day include a number of lectures and discussions in the field of biotechnology, with the participation of Syrian researchers at home and expatriates in Russia, China, the United States of America, Sweden and Belgium, in addition to organizing an exhibition of scientific posters with the participation of researchers from Syria, Egypt and Russia.

The activities of the second day include a number of sessions and discussions in the axis of information technology, smart systems, nanotechnology, technology and knowledge management, with the participation of Syrian researchers at home and expatriates in Britain, Russia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Poland and South Africa, in addition to an exhibition of scientific posters for Syrian researchers at home and expatriates in Russia, South Africa, Taiwan and Malaysia .

The activities of the third day extend to include a number of sessions and discussions in the field of energy and environmental technology, with the participation of Syrian researchers in Syria and expatriates in Portugal, France, Hungary and Austria.

Dr. Majd al-Jamali, Director General of the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research, said in a statement to SANA that the conference aims in the short term to introduce Syrian researchers in the homeland and the expatriate to each other and to benefit from experiences, modern knowledge and scientific developments in research centers outside Syria, while in the long term it aims to establish research partnerships. Through joint development research projects supported by the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research and contribute to the development of products and services in all sectors.

In August of last year, the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research organized the work of the “Second Scientific Conference for Syrian Expatriate Researchers 2020 (remotely) in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Network of Syrian Scientists, Technicians, Innovators and Innovators in Expatriates (Nostia), the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, the Arab School for Science and Technology and the Association Syrian Scientific Informatics.
