Eight people died in a 22-vehicle pile-up caused by a sandstorm on a Utah highway, authorities in the western United States said Monday, July 26.

A sandstorm in Millard County resulted in eight deaths, including those of children, and several motorists were injured in a series of crashes on Sunday afternoon,
" the security department said in a statement. Utah Public.

Several people were taken to hospitals in the region, including at least three in critical condition

It appears that 22 vehicles were involved in Sunday's crashes after high winds caused a sand or dust storm reducing visibility on the road
