A 22-year-old young man is currently in police custody in the premises of the departmental security of Essonne.
Arrested this Tuesday morning at his home in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, he is suspected of having participated in the lynching which led to the death of Arthur, 19, who died in hospital after being beaten in the night of Thursday July 15 to Friday July 16.
Information confirmed by the Evry prosecutor's office.
Artur's death takes place in a context of rivalry between the Saint-Hubert districts in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois and Le Bois des Roches in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge.
A rivalry exacerbated by social networks and the permanent mistrust between two rap groups, 700s in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois and 2.4 sector in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge.
Hundreds of people paid tribute to Arthur
Armed with a handgun, Arthur and a friend had traveled by scooter to the opposing district of Saint-Hubert when the fight broke out shortly after 1 a.m.
Seriously injured in the head, and after having a cardiac, the young man was taken to the hospital of Kremlin-Bicêtre (Val-de-Marne) with a vital prognosis engaged.
He died two days later.
Last Wednesday, several hundred people dressed in white paid tribute to him in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge. A long procession silently crossed several streets of the city. "Never again," read the signs at the head of the march.
