Alberto Fernández will travel to Peru this Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. to attend the presidential inauguration of the newly elected president, the leftist Pedro Castillo.
The official start ceremony for the 2021-2026 period is scheduled for Wednesday.
Fernández will travel after the closing of lists of the weekend in the face of the PASO and after participating this Monday in an act in the Buenos Aires municipality of Merlo.
In campaign mode, the President set the tone for the electoral race before dedicating himself to his protocol and diplomatic role.
Thus, he pointed to the opposition and highlighted the negotiation for vaccines against the coronavirus, after the controversies over the email from Cecilia Nicolini to the Russian Investment Fund.
According to Clarín, in principle Fernández will travel this Tuesday with
a very small delegation
, which will include Foreign Minister Felipe Solá, and
Oscar Laborde
, vice president of Parlasur, who during the recent elections in Peru served as head of the electoral mission of the body.
Pedro Castillo prevailed in the second round of the Peruvian elections on June 6, the right-wing Keiko Fujimori, in elections that were slow to reach the definition due to the minimal difference in votes between candidates.
The electoral resolution in Peru then became a
stage for
Latin American
geopolitics
, especially for those who define the borders of what they call the
great homeland
.
Alberto Fernández was one of the first leaders of the region to congratulate him, which made diplomatic noise because
the scrutiny process had not yet been completed
.
In fact, the proclamation as president-elect of Castillo - a rural teacher from the Andean department of Cajamarca -
was delayed six weeks
amid tensions, threats and legal presentations by Fujimori, until it was finally confirmed last week.
That diplomatic conflict
"
I want to reiterate my congratulations to Pedro Castillo
who was democratically elected and proclaimed president of our brothers in Peru. Together we will work for a united Latin America."
With that message on Twitter, Fernández greeted Pedro Castillo exactly one week ago as president-elect of Peru.
It was after the National Electoral Jury officially recognized the triumph over Keiko Fujimori.
I want to reiterate my congratulations to @PedroCastilloTe, who was democratically elected and proclaimed president of our brothers in Peru.
Together we will work for a united Latin America.

Thus, Fernández wrote those words citing a tweet that he himself had sent on June 10 with an
early congratulation to Castillo
, which ended up at that diplomatic crossing.
It is that that post on networks had been at the center of the controversy because Alberto Fernández congratulated "the elected president" of Peru before the
official counting of votes
in that country
ended
.
"Today I contacted @PedroCastilloTe, president-elect of Peru. I expressed my desire that we join forces in favor of Latin America. We are deeply twinned nations," Fernández said on June 10.
That letter in networks had ended in a harsh response from the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, which presented a
note of protest against
the anticipated greeting, interpreted as an attempt to condition the close scrutiny with international noise.
The official participation in the act of transfer of command in Peruvian lands will coincide with the
celebrations for the Bicentennial
of the independence of Peru, which was declared on July 28, 1821.
