A few years ago the city council set itself the goal of making Bruck as accessible as possible.
At the bus stops, things are going well.
But there is more to be done.
An inventory has now been made.
And every year a budget of 900,000 euros is available.
Fürstenfeldbruck - The impetus for the "FFB barrier-free" project was given by an application from Philipp Heimerl (SPD).
As part of a data collection, standards for paths, crossings, structures and public buildings have now been worked out.
In addition to employees of the city administration and politicians, the advisory board for people with disabilities, the responsible speakers, the Bavarian Blind Association and other associations were also involved in this working group.
The result is an inventory report - a working basis to implement things step by step.
140 bus stops
Because none of this can be done quickly. Of 140 bus stops, only twelve are barrier-free, 94 at least partially. And the city has only four entirely and one partially barrier-free pedestrian crossing. There are 36 in total. The reason: something is only done with new buildings and renovations, because it is also a question of financial possibilities. The same applies to the bus stops, which can only be converted gradually. There is also a lack of money for projects such as a guidance system for the blind in the city center.
However, you want to move forward.
Therefore there is a budget of 900,000 euros per year for such projects.
Part of it goes to the bus stops, the rest is decided by the Committee for Integration, Social Affairs, Youth and Sport on the basis of a list of priorities proposed by a working group - as part of the annual report on the project.
The committee agreed to this unanimously.
"We're doing something historical for the city," said social officer Adrian Best (left).
Because the concept relieves a lot of work.
And the decision-making process is much faster.
Mayor Erich Raff reported that no bus stops were made accessible in the past year because no affordable company could be found.
Therefore, more should be implemented this year.
