100m backstroke final
No one, perhaps except Gorbenko herself, believed she could qualify for the final in one of the tough anointings in the competition. But the 17-year-old swimmer was amazing when she managed to reach the final in the 100-meter backstroke, which is not considered her strongest end. But in the final, the swimmer had a hard time dealing with her strong rivals and finished eighth, when she stopped the clock at 59.53 seconds - a better time than the result she set in the qualifiers (59.90).
Australian Kylie McEeon won gold with 57.47 seconds, Canadian Kylie Massa silver with 57.72 seconds and American Reagan Smith Bard with 58.05 seconds.

(6:05)
Qualifying for the 100m backstroke final was a big surprise, as Gurbanko's strongest ointment is the 200m individual medley, and he will also try to qualify for the final.
She finished the qualifiers with the seventh result in nature, when she stopped the clock at 2: 10.21 minutes - slightly less than the Israeli record set earlier this year (2: 09.99 minutes).
"I want to at least break my record in the 200 individual medley, I hope that will be enough," she said ahead of the anointing.
