The owner of the Bergkramerhof has terminated the lease with the golf club.

The rebellious behavior of tenant Josef Hingerl also plays a role.

Wolfratshausen

- The Bergkramerhof golf course will cease operations at the end of 2022.

The tenant, lawyer Dr.

Josef Hingerl, communicated to the 400 members and guests in a special newsletter.

The reason: Josef Danhuber, owner of the extensive site, has not extended the lease.

"The decision is now to be accepted," said Hingerl.

Until December 31 of next year, however, the sport will continue to be indulged above the rooftops of Wolfratshausen: “I am ready to continue to dedicate my previous commitment to the golf course.” Even non-golfers, the controversial lawyer in lockdown has become a household name throughout Germany . When the 73-year-old opened the course twice despite an official ban, he was celebrated by the tabloids as a “golf rebel”. But this short-term publicity did not bring him much apart from two fines totaling 15,000 euros and harsh criticism from the Bavarian Golf Association. The problem: The concept of Germany's first pesticide-free golf course never really worked. "We would have needed 700 members to be able to work profitably," Hingerl explains when our newspaper asked.150 golfers left the Bergkramerhof during the environmentally conscious changeover.

Which brings you to the history of the golf course. The green was laid in 1994, initially with nine holes. Just three years later, the golf course had to file for bankruptcy under the former operator Hubertus Angstl, and all lease rights were transferred to the Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. In 1999 the facility was expanded by an additional nine fairways, and in 2007 Hingerl took over operations. In 2013 traces of germs were found for the first time in shafts - parts of the system are located in the water protection area. The golf course seemed to be about to end. But the mountain trainer went on the offensive and from then on did without chemical pesticides.

You should know that when reading the newsletter.

Because Hingerl reports what Danhuber is supposed to be up to.

“Maize is being grown again,” he writes.

The owner, who owns the first nine of the 18 lifts, definitely informed him of this in writing.

The dismantling of the areas for agricultural use is not without a certain irony: "Now the district office and the city of Wolfratshausen are getting the pesticide-intensive maize cultivation in the water protection area again".

Where they really wanted to prevent this from happening.

In general, it is not easy for Hingerl to hide his disappointment.

Because: With the owners of the other nine railways ("the Fagner brothers"), he managed to negotiate a 30-year lease in tough negotiations.

But that is now a thing of the past.

“I have to admit that I originally planned the Bergkramerhof as my refreshing event for my age.

That can no longer be achieved.

My mission seems to be fulfilled here. "

Owner Danhuber (94), who also owns the Munich freezer store on Zenettistraße, cannot follow this description. Hingerl's course of confrontation with the state authorities in lockdown annoyed him. "That's stupid, you need the authorities," he says. “The only reason I didn't quit Hingerl right away was because otherwise it would have been said that we would destroy everything up there.” He is silent about re-use - keyword: corn. “Let's just wait two or three months.” There have been plans for some time to turn the former courtyard, which houses the club and inn, into a hotel. Whatever the future holds, the days of golfers are over.
