Today, a huge explosion rocked an industrial complex of chemical companies in the city of Leverkusen, western Germany.
The Associated Press quoted German authorities as saying that "the explosion is classified as a "severe threat" and we have asked the city's residents to stay inside and close the windows and doors," noting that the cause of the explosion is not clear so far, and there were no reports of injuries or casualties.
German police closed several major highways close to the blast site, while television footage showed a thick cloud of smoke moving northwest towards the towns of Borschede and Lischlingen.
