High deficit in Nandlstadt's Narrhalla fund: contributions must be increased

Little fun, little money: this is how one could describe the current situation of Narrhalla Nandlstadt. That has consequences.

Nandlstadt

- In the cash register of Narrhalla Nandlstadt, things are currently looking rather uncomfortable.

Due to the corona pandemic, numerous events had to be canceled so that the expenses can no longer be covered.

Now the board has decided to take a difficult step.

The report by Treasurer Theresa Unger at the annual general meeting of Narrhalla on Sunday was tough, also because large numbers were dealt with. Around 35,500 euros were collected, including from various events such as the Mardi Gras event 2019, membership fees and grants. However, around 45,000 euros were spent - for example for bands, Gema fees, security and costumes. Problem: The second half of 2020 has completely broken down as a source of income - no Christmas market, no "Festival of the Senses" and also no Carnival per se. So the cash register, which was missing EUR 10,000, simply could not be refilled. Should there be a “normal carnival” again for the next season, the loss could possibly be largely recovered. A deficitso Unger, but would certainly stay.

So what to do Sebastian Fichtner, Vice President of Narrhalla Nandlstadt, made it short and painless: The membership fees must be increased. If the annual fee is currently 11.11 euros, it will soon be increased by 100 percent to 22.22 euros. "I know that is twice as much - but you can handle that," emphasized Fichtner and made an invoice. That would be a contribution of 1.85 euros per month, and anyone could afford it. In addition, the membership fee had not been increased for 20 years - at that time, a year Narrhalla still cost 11.11 marks. "The quotient of the increase remains the same," said Fichtner. However, he will still expect resignations due to the price increase, but in his opinion that would also happen with a contribution of, for example, 15 euros - also, because there are many passive members who no longer even know that they are with the Narrhalla. But: In contrast to other clubs, so Fichtner, the Narrhalla is still cheap.

In addition, the Narrhalla can be present with a drinks stand at this year's Nandlstädter Kultursommer, so that money is poured into the till here too. The chronicle for the 70th anniversary of Narrhalla, which will be presented at the beginning of next year, could also provide a little rain of money. How it looks with the coming carnival season is still in the stars - but the Narrhalla is already planning its events.

The review of the year itself was presented quickly: The medals and pins that had been offered this year despite the unusual carnival were very well received.

There was particularly positive feedback for the shopping service that the Narrhalla had offered during the lockdown.

The social media team had also been successful, bringing a little carnival air into the living room via the Internet during the forced break.

So now we have to wait and see how it will go in the coming season.
