More and more companies are now making donations in cash and in kind for those affected by the flood disaster.

Lidl is now drawing attention to itself with another campaign.

Stolberg - The discounter chain Lidl * continues to show presence in the areas affected by the flood with offers of help.

While the clean-up work is still in full swing after the historic flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, something like everyday life is slowly returning for those affected.

This also includes going to the supermarket.

Many are likely to be drawn to the branches of the discounter Lidl, which among other things started appeals for donations for those affected and helped with the distribution of food.

At the same time, the Schwarz Group (Lidl, Kaufland) transferred ten million euros to a donation account for the “Deutschland hilft” campaign.

Lidl: Those affected by the unusual relief effort are enthusiastic

Lidl is now making a name for itself again with a rather unusual relief effort. In Stolberg in the Rhineland, also affected by the flood, several branches have placed boards in front of their buildings on which helpers and those seeking help can register. Customers are given the opportunity to easily communicate what help they need or what assistance they can offer. The concept is reminiscent of the well-known “search / offer” boards and is now actively used by the local people, as can be seen in the pictures.

The campaign is well received in the area and on social media. Posts by a local butcher that thanks Lidl for their help have now reached almost 200 likes, and the post has been shared over 100 times on Facebook alone, including in groups such as “NRW Flood Aid Group” or “Stolberg Flood Aid”. The mayor of Stolberg was also made aware of the campaign via a shared post. Users only comment positively on the relief effort. One user is happy about “the great idea”, another comments that “Any help helps!”.
