Material we did not know: Gurbanko's appearance analysis and Sagi Muki's disappointment
Even before her 18th birthday, Anastasia Gurbanko had already managed to forget the theory that an Olympic final in swimming equals a medal in a small industry and left us with a strange feeling of missing out despite an amazing achievement.

Israelis have become accustomed to think Olympic final in swimming is more or less equivalent to a medal in one of the small branches.
Personally I do not really agree with this theory, but quite a few people have streamed with it until this week.
What I take from what Anastasia Gurbanko has done so far is that thanks to her they will probably no longer use this theory.
All she had to do was qualify for the Olympic ointment final (and be the first Israeli swimmer to do so) in an ointment that no one expected her to make it into the top 8 in the world.
Once that happened, surprisingly, Gorbanko showed us that it is made of a material we have not known until today - a material that brings you to the Olympic final in swimming, even if it was not planned.
It is also a material that makes her a versatile swimmer at an international level, something we did not even know in our districts.

And it is true that there is much more to polish.
The matter of decision-making, what to swim and what not and when, the issue of morning-to-evening performance that will often be reflected in the Olympics because Americans will always set the anointing hours according to their prime time, and especially gaining experience.
But the good thing is that there is something to polish.
It is true that after her achievement at the European Championships two months ago Gurbanko had to make an Olympic final in the 200 individual medley.
Everyone thought so, and she is more than anyone.
In her case, I guess it could have ended much better in the end, i.e. a final ointment where she could have approached the medal with a second improvement to the Israeli record, and equally could have finished as it did without an Olympic final.
Gorbenko proved to all of us in these games what a great swimmer she is, first of all thanks to her performance in the 100 backstroke semifinals, and not sure we should draw too many conclusions but remember that there are more games in three years, where she is expected to peak towards age 21 - three years Lots to improve and polish.
It should be remembered that these games are not over yet and the next day she will swim in the 200 breaststroke qualifiers and later with the Apostles Mix team.

Undoubtedly an interesting topic and even Gorbanko herself said that perhaps this combination was not the right one for her.
In any case, if you try to compare her swimming in the semifinals which ended in a time of 2: 10.70 min compared to her swimming when she won the European Championship in a time of 2: 09.99 min, you can see that in the first style today (butterfly) she was only 4 hundredths slow Compared to her first 50 meters at the European Championships in Budapest, but the big difference was in the second style which was the backstroke, the same style in which she swam an Olympic final.
This time she swam the 50 backstroke in a time of 33.50 seconds compared to 32.62 seconds in Budapest, a difference of 88 hundredths only in the backstroke style and she was missing a total of 11 hundredths for the entire 200 meters today.

In -2019 Sagi Muki was responsible for one of the greatest achievements in the history of Israeli sports when he won the world championship in Judo. No Israeli judoka has done it among men, only Jordan Jerby has signed such an achievement. Everything seemed ready for Muki's revenge at the 2020 Olympic Judo Tournament. Enough for the moment of truth in Tokyo.
Statistics show that since returning from injury, Muki has won a bronze medal at the European Championships and a Masters tournament in Qatar, but even there the opponents he lost to were what are called in judo "those he should throw" and those who have followed him in recent months have realized he is in trouble. In Qatar, for example, he lost to Dutch judoka Frank de Witt, who also lost one battle ahead of him in the quarterfinals.
