Unit 81, a technological unit of the Armed Forces, recently developed, together with the Hashomer Hahadash organization, modern technologies that will help prevent thefts in agricultural areas. Unit 81 is considered one of the most classified in the IDF, and it develops and manufactures weapons and operational technological solutions.

Major S., head of the unit, described the development process after meeting with farmers and understanding their needs. “This is a very complex problem with many layers of pasture, fields, avocado groves. We tried to understand in a variety of meetings with them what would solve their problems. "They receive alerts about presence on the ground, and thefts but they are inaccurate," he said.

The officer stressed that the uniqueness of the newly developed system is in its level of accuracy. The system knows to identify whether it is a farmer or a non-farmer, a friend or an enemy. Also, the system gives an immediate alert directly to the farmer's phone. The focus of the problem was very important in relation to the types of areas. "

About two years ago, a director was established in the project unit for the company.

Major S. explained that the principal's mission is to connect the diverse skills of the soldiers and the advanced capabilities of the unit, with the needs and challenges of the community.

As part of the project, a large number of projects were promoted, including a smart treadmill for rehabilitation departments. "

Regarding the smart treadmill developed in the unit, the officer said, "We have developed an innovative walking rehabilitation technology that reduces the re-rehabilitation process to a few months.

Walking rehabilitation is now done using a simple treadmill and the physiotherapist has no data to guide the patient in rehabilitation, or an indication of his progress.

The smart treadmill is equipped with weight sensors on each leg connected to the patient's mobile device, which is mounted on the treadmill itself.

Thus, the physiotherapist receives a direct indication of the patient's walking condition.

According to the officer, this is a cheap solution that can be installed on the entire treadmill.

The two products developed won an award from the head of the Armed Forces, Tamir Heiman.
