Now the government is planning stricter vaccination rules.

Rome - The corona incidence in Italy has been increasing since the beginning of July.

It is now back at 51.3, after having been below ten at the end of June.

The Italian government under Mario Draghi is therefore now considering compulsory vaccination for teachers and other staff in schools.

According to the Italian media, there will be a meeting with the unions beforehand.

The new rule could already be decided this week.

The aim is to vaccinate school staff by the time they start school on September 12, 2021.

The aim is to examine which is the most effective means of making face-to-face lessons possible for schoolchildren without risk, said Italy's Minister of Health Roberto Speranza.

85 percent of all teachers in Italy have already been vaccinated against the corona virus at least once.

However, there are major differences between the respective regions.

Prime Minister Draghi believes that normal face-to-face teaching is important.

Last school year, many students had to take part in lessons via homeschooling.

In Italy, vaccination has been mandatory for health care workers since April.

A similar measure has also been approved in France in the past few days.

Corona situation in Italy is coming to a head: Almost all corona deaths since February were not fully vaccinated

Around 99 percent of people who have died in connection with Covid-19 in Italy since February had not received a full vaccination.

This comes from a new study by the highest health institute ISS (Istituto Superiore di Sanità).

A higher average age and an above average number of previous pathologies were found among the corona deaths who had been fully vaccinated.

As of July 21, 423 fully vaccinated people had died in connection with Sars-Cov-2 in Italy.

That's about 1.2 percent of all deaths since February 1.

Incidence in Italy has continued to rise since the European Championship finals

In addition to the delta variant, the European football championship and the associated parties in Italy are also suspected of having caused the sudden increase in the incidence.

In Rome alone, the incidence has increased fivefold since the European Championship finals.

The government has therefore announced stricter corona measures.

From August 6th, Italians will need a “Green Pass” to enter the interior of restaurants, bars or sports facilities.

According to Speranza, 40 million people have already downloaded this pass.

It can be used to quickly detect a corona test that is no more than 48 hours old and negative, a vaccination or a past infection.

Tens of thousands of vaccine opponents took to the streets in Italy last weekend to demonstrate against vaccination and the passport.

Italy adopts stricter corona rules: For holidaymakers from Germany, a vaccination pass is sufficient

For travelers from Germany: The vaccination certificate is sufficient.

The German certificates are also recognized in Italy.

It would then no longer need a “green pass”.

There are exceptions in Italy for the stricter Corona rules for outdoor areas.

The “Green Pass” is not required for public transport, but also for museums, cinemas, theaters, fitness studios or concerts.
