Within the activities of the Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow up on the work of the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons who were forced by the terrorist crimes to leave the country, a memorandum of understanding was signed today at Aleppo International Airport between the General Organization of Civil Aviation in Syria and the Russian Transport and Logistics Company “Aviadillo”.

The Director of the Syrian General Organization for Civil Aviation, Engineer Basem Mansour, told SANA correspondent in Aleppo that the aim of the memorandum of understanding is to activate flights between Syria and the Russian Federation, where Syrian Airlines and Cham Wings Airlines are now operating between Damascus and Moscow, and through this memorandum, work will be done to activate the Aleppo-Krasnodar line in The Russian Federation contributes to the flow of air transport, goods and passengers and is positively reflected on economic and industrial activities.

For his part, Walid Abu Shahla, Director General of the Russian Transport and Logistics Company Aviadillo, explained that activating the movement of transport and airlines between the Russian Federation and Syria is an important step to enhance cooperation in the fields of air freight and increase and activate trade exchange to feed the Russian and Syrian markets with goods and shorten the time in passenger and freight movement.

"In cooperation with the Ministry of Transport in Syria, an action plan was drawn up to restore air traffic and open airlines between the Russian Federation and Syria," said Artyom Petit, director of foreign relations at Aviadillo, expressing his hope that all airlines between the two countries would be reopened in the near future. After that, the Russian delegation was briefed From Aviadillo Company on the reality of air transport at Aleppo International Airport, and he visited the arrival and departure halls of passengers and cargo shipments, and the extent of the airport’s readiness to transport passengers and air cargo.
